Etteplan was established by four innovative and forward looking engineers, Ensio Juotasniemi, Tero Elomaa, Tapani Mönkkönen and Esko Poltto in 1983 and commenced design activities in Hollola the following year. Business grew steadily and first district office was founded in Hyvinkää in 1987. In the year 1989 Etteplan acquired its three founder companies. The acquisition created a design company with over 200 employees. Etteplan was listed on Helsinki Stock Exchange in 2000.
During 30 years, the Group has grown into its present form with wide range of competences and services, more than 40 offices, approximately 1,800 designers and specialists and generating revenue of EUR 134,5 million in 2012.
