Etteplan’s Oulu office planned Rautaruukki’s Coking Process Management System (CPMS) for two steel mills in China.

The project for Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp.’s steel mill in China, which was completed in the summer 2004, involved application programs and documentation for the CPMS system, the implementation of the software in China and training the customer in Finland. In addition, specifications were drawn up for specialized instrumentation that the customer will procure.

The second system was delivered in the autumn 2004 to Tangshan Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd in China.

The new process management system makes it possible to improve the running of a coking plant as well as the even quality of the coke. This in turn makes it possible to save energy and extends the life of a coking plant.
