The project was started to increase the company's portfolio with an easy to use handheld instrument intended for key customer branding.
The instrument comprises a Terminal with battery compartment and a user friendly display and keyboard. Attached to the terminal are two TD-units (transmitter/detector) with built in laser and PSD (analogue position sensing device).
A complete instrument also includes mechanical fixtures, carrying bag and manuals.
Some key specifications are
- Possible to measure displacements up to 10mm with 0.01mm resolution.
- Low current consumption
- Low cost solution
- Optional Ex ib compliance for hazardous environments

ASC -phase (Analyse, Specification, Concept):

- Software design PIC micro controller in TD, Hitachi H8 controller in Terminal, Pascal in PC-based test equiment.

Production and Test equipment:
- Design and development of turn key test and calibration units
- Test instruction for all parts· Production of first 100 units
- Assist in ramp-up with contract manufacturer
