KONE Marine (ex. MacGREGOR Passenger Ship Division), is specialized in design, supply, installation and maintenance of elevator and escalator solutions for ships, is responsible for supplying KONE elevator systems for 5 new vessels to be built for the Finnish shipping company Finnlines. The first ship, ”Finnstar”, which will be delivered in spring 2006 from Fincantieri shipyard, is a so-called ropax-(ro-ro/passenger-) vessel and one of the fastest in her class.

Ettelpan’s Hyvinkää office delivered the required product documentation for the elevator delivery in the summer of 2005. The documentation consisted of maintenance and spare parts manuals for elevators and was delivered both in paper and CD format.

Previously this kind of product documentation was carried out in France but a part of the documentation process was transferred to Etteplan in the autumn of 2004. Etteplan proved out to be a reliable and efficient partner and because of that the responsibility for the product documentation has increased gradually all the time. At the moment Etteplan takes care of all of the KONE Marine’s product documentation concerning marine elevators and escalators. Until now, Etteplan has participated in many similar projects that have included either the installation of new lifts and escalators or the modernisation of old lifts and escalators.
