Etteplan’s Oulu office designed a blast furnace process management system to be delivered by Rautaruukki to the Sicartsa Steel Plant, Mexico in 1999-2001. The project was part of a development project that combined supervisory, expert and neural systems.

The project was implemented in cooperation with AMI Meltshops, S.A. DE C.V. (Monterrey, México) who was responsible for designing and commissioning the modernization of a basic automation system.

Customer training was in English and all project documentation was delivered in Spanish.
