Stora Enso's Skutskär Mill produces EFC-bleached pulp 500 000 tons/year. The new biological waste water treatment plant reduces environmental impact effectively and meets the requirements of environmental permits. The new plant was delivered by Skanska Econet Oy (Finland) on turn-key basis. The flow capacity of the plant is 50 000 m3/day.
Electrical and automation systems were included in the turn-key delivery as follows:
- 11 kV power supply lines feeding 11/0,5 kV transformers
- Total installed capacity 3 MW
- MCCs and subdistribution boards
- Frequence converters
- Lighting, small power and telecommunication systems
- The process control system is based on Siemens PCS 7 technology with 100% Profibus-type fieldbus without conventional I/O-modules. Fibre optic cables are used to connect together the process stations and operator stations locating in different parts of the mill.
