EU regulation is likely via cyber security certification schemes and Radio Equipment Directive. IEC 62443-4-series is recommended as applicable standards for secure development of embedded devices for critical infrastructure and industry

Embedded devices are everywhere and include sensors and active control devices, having the capability to exchange and collect data. Therefore security is a crucial element when developing such devices. Cyber security regulations and standards pose requirements on both the development/life cycle process and the device itself, and also on purchasing of devices.

Device manufacturers can see the security-related market change as a challenge or an opportunity. We lean towards the latter, as IEC 62443-4-1 and -4-2 combine known good practices under a single umbrella which makes them easier to implement in device development, and create competitive advantage.

In this webinar, our experts will go through how you should take the security related market change and IEC 62443-4 standards into account in your development process, from R&D to production and maintenance. You will also hear from KONE, how they include cyber security in their product development.

Agenda:

  • The market change: What regulatory changes are being prepared and why to select IEC 62443-4 standards as basis for secure development of embedded devices?
  • Next steps for a practical approach to applying IEC 62443-4 standards in development
  • How KONE handles security already at the product development phase with their DX lift
