Movesensei Judo Application

Etteplan developed a mobile Judo application for Finnish start up company Ardo Oy. The application is designed for practicing Japanese martial art judo. Judo is the world’s most popular martial arts sport developed by Japanese Professor Jigoro Kano. Judo consists of several techniques both in standing and ground positions, including throws.

Movesensei mobile application provides an interactive way to learn judo throwing techniques. In addition, the app helps to practice decision-making and reacting to the opponent’s moves. Movesensei is the way for judo practitioners and enthusiasts to train their brains for judo.

Agile software development and consulting

Etteplan implemented the application with Unity and 3ds Max. The key elements of success in the project were agile software development as well as understanding the customer’s business. The software development continues and additional features will be introduced in the application later on.

The customer Ardo Oy has been pleased with the cooperation. “For us it is critical that we get our ideas becoming working solutions,” says Antti Renko, founder of Ardo Oy. “This will be something totally new for our sport!”

“Developing Movesensei is an ongoing process of learning in which we consult the customer. Together we find out the best ways to implement the application and decide which features to include. Etteplan consultancy includes also business wise thinking, to create best possible product for the market, client and the end user” says Arto Kangas, Project Manager at Etteplan.
