A smart event platform
A solution developed by Etteplan MORE and the City of Tampere will be used as the publication platform for the Helsinki Market Square digital experiments. We will be providing support services for the platform during the experiments.
A publication platform for digital experiments at the Helsinki Market Square
The publication platform to be implemented in the Market Square area is based on an Etteplan MORE concept mapping out the customer path from a citizen’s perspective. The concept outlined a digital service that makes life easier for citizens as they use various services and collects a wide range of functions, such as event information and positioning services, in the same place. The Tampere Events App, also developed by Etteplan MORE, is based on the same concept.
The goal is to establish an ecosystem of consumers, service providers, entrepreneurs and event organisers around the platform, and to allow developers free range in creating new functionalities for the platform. This makes smart city services even more easily accessible to citizens, tourists and event guests. The entrepreneurs of the Helsinki Market Square are participating in the development process.
"In the future, the city of Helsinki will also be able to utilise the Market Square platform in other potential Smart City projects that aim to make cities smarter than ever before," says Etteplan MORE Sales Manager Matti Anttonen.
A customisable cloud-based solution
A web-based user interface will be built on the Market Square publication platform using modern technologies and the Microsoft Azure cloud service. Artificial intelligence will be utilised in implementing the platform’s guidance services. The cloud-based solution makes it easy to update the application content, because in the future it will be possible to create rich content for the platform completely without code.
