UI redesign for an incident management application Teleste is an expert in broadband data and video services that delivers smart solutions for public transport and security segments. Etteplan was involved in a user interface redesign project covering S-AWARE® and S-VMX – comprehensive incident and video management applications that allow easy and firm control of various data types as well as help in improving the safety of people and the infrastructure. Case Teleste Expertise Software and Digitalization Teleste had a clear and strong vision about usability and UI. It was crucial to act quickly and efficiently, create ideas, and constantly iterate to provide high-fidelity prototypes. Etteplan’s UI experts focused on the provided use cases, empathized with end-users, and defined potential UI problems in response to client needs. This allowed to present ideas in form of pixel-perfect wireframes and prototypes simulating interactions and overall experience. The project was challenging because UI had to be simple and intuitive, yet allow the end-user to perform several complex actions on the interface. Etteplan’s experts had to consider a wide range of important aspects in the human-computer interaction. It required a redefined approach to rapid form filling, reducing user cognitive load, and coping with presenting many pieces of information on a small space. The end-user has a big responsibility to properly manage incidents, so UI must work in favour of content. Etteplan’s goal was to create a visually appealing design that would be familiar to users from the first second, mimicking widely used applications, but also meeting unique requirements for such a complex system. Reaching the highest standards and implementing best practices helped to provide concept and design that improved user experience. 'Thanks to careful listening, and flexible approach towards solving a design problem, Etteplan was able to challenge UI/UX goals effectively and provide a better experience for our end-users.' Krzysztof Helt, R&D Manager, Teleste
