EMC test laboratory
EMC tests mandatory for all electronic equipment
Electromagnetic compatibility, or EMC, testing ensures that electronic products comply with official requirements. Comprehensive emission and immunity tests are used to ensure that the product can operate without disturbances in various household and industrial environments.
Accredited EMC testing
Espotel Oy, which is part of the Etteplan Group, holds the commercial EMC test laboratory accreditation code T298 in accordance with requirement SFS-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, thanks to which we can offer customers accredited EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) testing in compliance with the standards. Espotel Oy’s scope of accreditation can be viewed on FINAS’s website, at :https://www.finas.fi/sites/en/operators/Pages/default.aspx#k=T298. There are only a handful of accredited commercial EMC test laboratories in Finland.
EMC and RF testing
Etteplan provides all of the development work and standardized EMC and RF testing required by the customer. We are thus able to significantly expedite our customers’ product development.
Whatever the product’s EMC or RF performance problem, we will solve it using top-of-the-line expertise, automated measurement equipment and test environments. We supply quick, cost-effective service.
We also offer certification consultation services and approval services on a turnkey basis.
Test laboratory reveals hidden faults
A fault in an electronic device can stem from a variety of sources: electronics and/or mechanical design, an error or a poor work method in assembly, a deviation in component quality or simply a low-quality component. When choosing a component, it is important to identify the factors that are critical in terms of its reliability.
Whatever the reason behind a fault, it is always paramount to find the root cause to be able to solve the right fault. And the faster the fault is repaired, the quicker the product can be introduced to the market. The data obtained through failure analysis is important, as even the smallest fault in a device may entail significant warranty costs and impair the brand image.
Fault analysis and environmental testing support each other
Etteplan’s failure analysis and environmental testing laboratories can quickly ascertain whether the prototype meets the product requirements set for the device. Part of our expertise is to recognize the parts causing reliability risks and to design the testing procedure around them.
Our failure analyses are based on in-depth understanding of failure mechanisms, enabling us to select the appropriate stresses and stress levels for the environmental tests.
Diversity guarantees quality
As an engineering and testing company, we know the risks involved at the manufacturing, assembly and final testing stages and can factor them in in both testing design and result and failure analysis.
Depending on the assignment given to us by the customer, we also implement an analysis of the test results. Based on the analysis, it is easy for the customer to make decisions and prioritize the improvements required. Etteplan’s strength is based on comprehensive technology expertise from different industries. Part of our know-how consists of asking customers the right questions concerning their devices and establishing their needs to make sure that no hidden faults go unnoticed during testing.
