Technology service company Etteplan has made long-term, systematic efforts to strengthen its information security and maintain a robust information security management system. As a result of this commitment, the company now holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification across a wide range of its operations. With 13 certified offices in Finland, Sweden, Germany, and Poland, Etteplan demonstrates a comprehensive and proactive approach to managing information security risks. The certification, issued by LRQA, covers both Etteplan’s Software and Embedded Solutions as well as Technical Communication and Data Solutions operations.
Meeting regulatory requirements and customer expectations
The importance of ISO 27001 certification is greater than ever. With the tightening of cybersecurity regulations such as the EU’s NIS2 Directive and Finland’s Cybersecurity Act, certified information security practices are essential for legal compliance. ISO 27001 provides a solid foundation that helps companies like Etteplan meet these requirements efficiently and reliably.
However, the demand for certification has not only come from regulators—it has been strongly driven by business needs and customer expectations. Increasingly, clients across industries require ISO 27001 certification as a prerequisite for collaboration. For many clients, it is not just a preference but a necessity.
Critical for certain industries
Etteplan serves a diverse customer base, including sectors where information security is paramount. The certification is especially critical for clients in the automotive, defence, and energy industries, where data protection and compliance are non-negotiable.
By holding ISO 27001 certification extensively, Etteplan simplifies or even eliminates the need for separate customer-led security audits. This not only streamlines cooperation but also builds trust and confidence in Etteplan’s ability to safeguard sensitive information.
Enabling compliance and growth
“Achieving ISO 27001 certification across so many of our offices shows how committed we are to information security at Etteplan, ” says Marko Mälkiä, CIO of Etteplan. “It strengthens our position in the market and supports our business strategy by enabling us to meet the growing demands of our customers.”
Etteplan’s commitment to continuous improvement in information security ensures that the company remains a reliable partner in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
