Elisabeth Heinrich: If you want to make a difference, then you’ve come to the right place!
Elisabeth Heinrich hails from a town near Berlin, where she began her journey with Etteplan after completing her Master’s degree. In her first three months, she split her time between the Berlin and Leverkusen offices, regularly commuting for three-day stays while searching for a new home in Leverkusen. Her efforts paid off, and on July 1, 2024, she officially relocated to Leverkusen — a move that has proven rewarding both professionally and personally. Though she’s settled in well, Elisabeth still enjoys visiting her hometown regularly.
As a Junior Engineer specializing in automation technology (software), Elisabeth works primarily on projects involving process control systems, particularly using Siemens PCS7. She is currently supporting her colleagues in Brunsbüttel on two exciting projects in the chemical industry.
One of the most formative experiences in her early career was the opportunity to see a project through from start to finish. From creating user interface images and programming step chains to participating in the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Elisabeth gained deep insight into the full development cycle. She also got her first taste of quotation preparation, expanding her skill set early on.
“The good thing about working at Etteplan is the variety of projects, which means that everyday working life is never boring,” says Elisabeth.
Beyond her day-to-day project work, Elisabeth is actively helping to build a trainee program for Etteplan Smart Factory. The initiative aims to provide hands-on training and spark enthusiasm among young professionals for tackling new challenges in the field.
Elisabeth describes her development at Etteplan as “consistently positive” and appreciates the numerous opportunities for both professional and personal growth.
“There are many opportunities to develop both professionally and personally,” she adds.
One thing that stands out for Elisabeth is the team culture. Whether through regular meetings, casual conversations, or team events, she values the consistent exchange of ideas and experiences with colleagues. The supportive environment and transparent communication within the team played a key role in helping her feel at home from the start.
“They always try to find a solution - and I can openly address all topics, requests and problems,” she reflects.
Outside of work, Elisabeth enjoys staying active. Her hobbies include road cycling, paddling, and yoga, as well as crocheting and knitting to express her creativity. Whenever she can, she escapes into nature — particularly the scenic landscapes of Scandinavia, which she finds especially inspiring.

Thanks to flexible working hours, mobile work options, and wellness initiatives like EtteplanGO, Elisabeth feels well-supported in maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
She deeply values the open corporate culture, the opportunity to contribute to the company’s direction, and the support she receives from her team and leadership.
Always open to new experiences and responsibilities — whether through project work, cross-disciplinary collaboration, or continued learning — Elisabeth remains excited about what lies ahead.
"At Etteplan, it's all about learning from each other, developing and driving new projects and innovations. By having a real influence on projects and further developing solutions, you have the chance to really make a difference," she summarizes.
