Mariusz Lasota – The Journey into the Embedded World at Etteplan

Mariusz Lasota always knew his career path would be connected to Embedded technology. Even before joining Etteplan, he was familiar with the company (then Espotel) and followed its growth. “I was impressed that it was a truly engineering-focused organization, delivering ambitious projects for various clients,” he recalls.

Although he felt good and was developing in his previous company, the offer from Etteplan that appeared on LinkedIn was the impulse for change. “I realized that my path had always led toward Embedded – and that’s exactly what I want to do in life.”

At Etteplan, Mariusz works as a Senior Project Manager, responsible for client communication, project management, and leading a team of Embedded engineers. As he emphasizes, the diversity of projects was one of the main reasons he made the move – and he hasn’t been disappointed.

Projects That Bring Satisfaction and Develop Skills

One of the projects Mariusz remembers with the greatest pride is a device for fast analog data acquisition based on Embedded Linux for an industrial client. “It was an extremely complex project, requiring a wide range of competencies – from BareMetal, through RTOS, to Linux. The team did a fantastic job, and knowing that this device will be used in industry worldwide gives enormous satisfaction.”

Although his main role is project management, Mariusz also developed his skills in Embedded Linux. “During the project, I had the opportunity to learn the entire device architecture and details of its subsystems. It was an incredibly interesting experience for me.”

Another milestone was a project for a client in the telemetry /IoT sector. “We started practically from scratch, with just one person on board, and today we are a competence center in the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) area. It’s a journey from zero to something really big.” Mariusz emphasizes that the project’s success is thanks to the team that built these competencies in Wrocław.

The Power Lies in People and Their Passion

According to Mariusz, Etteplan’s strength lies in passionate people who think broadly. “I value Etteplan for its engineering approach to Embedded projects – that’s my passion. There aren’t many companies that approach projects in such a technically conscious way.”

Mariusz adds that working with the team gives him enormous satisfaction: “I’m fully aware that they solve very complex problems – and I truly admire them for that.” That’s probably why the value closest to his heart is SMARTER TOGETHER. “There are no complex projects without collaboration among people with different skills. This sense of teamwork and synergy is extremely important to me.”

Plans for the Future

Looking ahead, Mariusz wants to develop in the area of Edge AI – a technology that opens new possibilities for intelligent, autonomous devices. “I’d like to contribute to building a future based on this technology.”

Together with the Bosch Rexroth team, Mariusz prepared a demonstrator based on Edge AI. “It’s the perfect tool for industry, which needs fast and scalable automation solutions,” explains Mariusz. Watch the video here.

Mariusz still has many ideas and areas for development related to Edge AI. We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
