Custom Solution: Etteplan Delivers Exact Replicas of Fiber Router and Coater Machines

A leading company focused on providing connectivity and sensor solutions for the distribution of power, signals, and data approached Etteplan with a specific challenge. They had a machine that was essential to their production processes, but the manufacturer had ceased its production. Now that the machine had reached the end of its life cycle and needed to be replaced, they had to find a new supplier capable of creating an exact copy of their existing machine. It was crucial for them that the new machines could continue to produce the same products and techniques that they had been making with their old machine.

In this project, we faced the challenge of developing a machine with specific applications that we had not previously realized. The client insisted on having an exact replica of their existing machine.
Solution and Services
Ultimately, we delivered two identical machines that the client now uses for creating prototypes and providing demos to potential customers. Our team developed the software and built the machines, which include a fiber router and a coater. The machines have separate controls but are integrated.
Added Value
The added value of our work lies in the thorough analysis of the existing machine. Based on that, we fully developed and constructed the new machines. The delivered machines meet the client's requirements and can manufacture the products they were already producing with the other machine.

The client has since placed a reorder for two sets of the fiber router and coater, which are currently in production. The goal of this expansion is to increase production capacity. The new machines will be deployed at multiple production locations, and they are also designed to produce the same products as the existing machines, in case any issues arise with one of the machines. This way, the client can always continue production, regardless of the circumstances.
