Enevo

Enevo provides smart sensor and analytics based logistics optimization solutions for the waste management and recycling industry.

The smart waste sensor is a core component in the Enevo ONe smart logistics solution which uses wireless sensors to both measure and forecast the fill-level of waste containers. The service automatically generates schedules and optimized routes for garbage collection.

The WE-008 container level sensor has been designed and built to accurately measure container fill levels in harsh environmental conditions. It uses ultrasonic sonar technology together with temperature and motion sensors measure the container fill level, and detect important events that it then communicates to the Enevo ONe server using standard cellular networks.

”The key to success was to optimize the cost and battery life of the smart sensor without compromising reliability. This is achieved by attention to several design details, such as good cellular antenna design that saves in transmission power as an example”, explains Fredrik Kekäläinen, CEO of Enevo.

The Enevo smart sensor was tested in Etteplan’s test laboratory in Jyväskylä.

Analytics is a Process

Most industrial plants are already highly automated. Programmable controllers, sensors, computers have been common for decades and robots assemble products. But operative leaders naturally need to look ahead. We have automated our processes but what will the next step be? How to make our production line even more efficient? Could the data we collect be the answer?

Neste

Eatech (Part of Etteplan Group) implemented a mobile app for Neste that includes mobile refuelling, as well as a wide range of opportunities for customer marketing. Potential users of the application, which was released for iPhone and Android, are all the Finns traveling by car.

Posti

Eatech (Part of Etteplan Group) is Posti’s collaboration partner in charge of the maintenance of Posti’s parcel lockers. Eatech also participates in the development of the parcel locker system. The Continuous Services unit of Eatech carried out the modernisation of Posti’s parcel locker equipment and the implementation of the new software during autumn 2017. The work covered all parcel lockers in Finland.

Security - You’re blindfolded unless you scan for vulnerabilities

“This is a report from a customer project. Here we found several vulnerabilities when scanning a Linux-based device designed for industrial environments.”

Harri Susi, SW Testing & Cyber Security Specialist at Etteplan, is showing us a document that contains a detailed analysis of services provided by an IoT device and how hackers may be able to exploit it. A report like this is the first step towards more secure devices.
