Desiree Awan: Here, everyone can be who they are.

Desiree Awan started as a junior technical writer at Etteplan in December 2022, at that time still at the Neukirchen-Vluyn site.

In her role as TCDS Specialist, she creates operating and maintenance instructions for soil, asphalt and waste compaction machines as well as the series maintenance of manufactured machines.

As Desiree lives in the countryside, she found it very interesting to work for an agricultural machinery manufacturer beforehand. “I was very pleased to learn more about the technology of the machines and to put it all into practice,” she says.

Desiree is looking forward to many more varied projects, which ensure that it never gets boring and that you are always learning something new. What she particularly appreciates about her team is that they are there for each other and support each other. She received help with her personal development from her team manager, who had her back.

“At Etteplan, everyone can be who they are and everyone is treated individually as far as possible,” explains Desiree. The team spirit among colleagues and the good work-life balance are further plus points for her.

In addition to her work, she has a wide range of interests. She enjoys going to concerts and cultural events, meeting up with friends and playing sport. However, she spends most of her time in nature with her dogs or on horseback. Whether it's a walk in the local forest, a day trip to the Dutch North Sea or hiking in the mountains - she's always up for a challenge.For some years now, her heart has belonged to the sport of pulling dogs. She retired her senior dog from the sport last year. Thanks to the flexibility of her job, she was able to get a young dog for her sport. She has already had her first starts with him.

Looking back, she can give the following advice: “Even if the induction has its ups and downs and you might wonder whether you've made the right decision - it's worth it once you've got involved in the project.” "Have the courage and bring cake! It's always difficult to settle into a new job, but here it's made really easy."
