Hongdi Wang: Navigating change with confidence 

Hongdi Wang joined Etteplan in 2023 as part of our fast-growing team of CAE (computer-aided engineering) engineers in Gothenburg, Sweden.  

Being the thorough engineer that she is, Hongdi did extensive research about Etteplan before deciding to join our ranks. After she found the ad on Linkedin about the position, she was interested in learning more, so she read the employee stories published on Etteplan’s website. She felt that it gave a good first impression of Etteplan as an employer and wanted to know more – so she applied.  

Hongdi was impressed by the recruitment process at Etteplan. Not only did she get a very positive impression of Daniel, her manager, who introduced her to her future potential colleagues, but also discussed the flexible working hours and workplace policy that we have at Etteplan. This factor was particularly important to Hongdi: “I want to be able to manage my time as much as possible to be able to find a good balance between work responsibilities, free time activities and my social life.”  

Now Hongdi is learning Swedish at SFI, which she took up quite quickly when she started at Etteplan. She finds the pronunciation particularly hard, but she appreciates the possibilities to practice Swedish language at work with her colleagues. Moreover, Hongdi is keen on learning about Swedish traditions related to different holidays – food, drinks, songs etc. Not to forget the traditions that other colleagues from other parts of the world are sharing! This element of international feeling and sharing was exactly what Hongdi was looking for and felt at ease choosing Etteplan as the next step in her career.
