Walter Westerdahl: The life of Mr. 100%

Life is what you make of it, a motto that Walter can relate to. Before joining Etteplan, Walter worked as a Mechanical Designer at a company that produced custom made stainless steel and products for refrigeration, he’s also worked as a freelancer in his father’s company – and now that Walter is at Etteplan, he feels like he’s made the perfect match. As a Mechanical Engineer at Etteplan he’s been able to be a part of several projects that have all been very different. In one of his latest projects, he was responsible for updating an advanced Excel document that the customer was using for their cable production. Another interesting project was when the customer had sent over handmade drawings from 1969 that they wanted to be made into CAD-drawings, which was pretty special. Another unique project had Walter manage a pump, that had to keep the volume of 0,5 microliters within a margin of error to one percent, which he of course did successfully.

“A colleague once said to me; ‘you just get all the strange projects, don’t you?’, I think I just might, and, well, I quite enjoy it!” Walter says with a grin.

But working at Etteplan is more than just projects and assignments for Walter. In the office, he is known as Mr. 100%, which is a title that he rightfully got after scoring a hundred percent in one of Etteplans quizzes that we do on ‘Consultant day’. Consultant day is a part of Etteplans onboarding process, where new employees meet up and get to know Etteplan better and other new colleagues from different offices. Walter also got a hundred percent of the quiz answers right at the Stockholm office Christmas party last year, together with his team. “Talking about Christmas parties, guess who won the prize for the best costume (2023)?” Walter says with a smirk on his face…

Finally, Walter would like to share something, to all his fellow Etteplanians that he’s had the pleasure of meeting: Thank you for existing, you’re the absolute coolest!
