Replacement of obsolete remote IO components

A German chemical company in the pharmaceutical and crop protection sector awarded Etteplan the contract to replace the older remote IO components of CEAG/P+F LB-System with Siemens ET 200SP HA. The replacement was intended to improve reliability and introduce future-oriented technologies. The implementation was carried out in close coordination with the customer and included a detailed concept as well as planning, testing and support during installation.

The project in a nutshell:

Challenge

Reviewing the documentation of existing infrastructure and systems • Creating a migration and conversion concept • Detailed planning of hardware and software • Carrying out tests and inspections • Support during installation and commissioning

Solutions and Services

Creation of the migration and conversion concept • planning of the new control cabinets • rescheduling of the affected PCT points • preparatory rescheduling of the 24V power supply • revision and migration of the software-affected subsystems • definition of the conversion steps • programming of a web-based test tool • support during installation and system shutdown

Added Value

Maintenance of support and spare parts supply • Improvement of reliability • Introduction of future-oriented technologies • Short changeover and downtimes thanks to upgrade concept, downtime under assumption

“Preparing for the changeover was challenging, but thanks to close collaboration and creative solutions, we were able to minimize downtime.”
