Etteplan invests and expands in Poland
Press release – Published: 27.04.2017 12:00:00
Etteplan, an engineering company that specializes in industrial engineering services, embedded systems, IoT (internet of things) and technical documentation, is expanding its Polish operations with the establishment of a new office in Poznań, situated in the western region of the country. The factors behind the expansion are the growing customer demand and improved growth outlook in Poland in recent years. Etteplan is also expanding its service offering to technical documentation in the Polish market.
Etteplan expanded its business to Poland in spring of 2016, following its acquisition of Espotel, a company specialized in embedded systems and IoT solutions. Etteplan also serves many Central European customers in Poland, especially in relation to the industrial internet. In addition, the outsourcing center that the company has in Poland, and which carries out part of the work involved in the various customer projects, boosts Etteplan’s competitiveness. Etteplan currently employs close to 100 people in Poland and with subcontractors roughly 150 people.
“The investment is a conscious and carefully deliberated move for Etteplan. We have great interest in Poland, especially since it offers us numerous opportunities for organic growth. Poland has a high number of potential customers, and the market is clearly growing, not to mention it has a highly competent workforce, ” says Etteplan’s CEO, Juha Näkki .
Greater impact and broader service offering
Etteplan already has an office in Wrocław, Poland, and about 15 local customers, including both Polish and international companies, such as ABB, Nokia, Viessmann and Diehl. The location close to major Central European markets is an important strategic advantage for Etteplan, as it is easy to serve a number of other key markets from Poland. The strong language skills of local experts thus also add to the appeal.
“In many other engineering hubs in Poland, recruiting is difficult. The situation is better in Poznań and it is considerably faster to find top-notch IoT experts, for example. Poznań is also home to many industrial companies, which means the city is ideal for us to find potential customers, ” says Näkki.
The demand for technical documentation services in Poland is expected to grow in the coming years. “This is part of the goal of our acquisitions from a year ago. We are now trying to actively integrate the offering of our various service areas in all countries where we operate. Technical documentation has not been in the center of our focus in Poland so far, but we believe the industry cluster in Poznań will considerably help us expand our business in this area as well, ” says Näkki.
