New energy distribution concept – conversion of lighting to LED
As part of a comprehensive modernization project, the lighting in the production area of a German chemical company in the pharmaceutical and crop protection sector was converted from linear luminaires without LED technology to modern LED lighting. This included the planning and installation of a new energy distribution concept for 400V and 230V in the hazardous area.
The project in a nutshell
Challenge
Conversion of the lighting to LED technology • Redesign of the power distribution concept • Planning of sub-distribution boards and sockets in hazardous areas • Optimization of the cable routes and division of the lighting circuits
Solutions and Services
Concept for lighting, power distribution and sockets • Explosion protection • Installation concept for LED luminaires and junction boxes • Lighting calculation for over 1200 luminaires • Planning of various lighting circuits and socket circuits • Installation of sub-distribution boards for lighting and sockets • System labeling of equipment
Added Value
Lighting designed in accordance with ASR3.4 • Robust against mechanical influences • Relief for existing cable trays • Light strips that can be switched off in the field and via the control system • Energy saving (LED) • Simplified RCD testing for sockets • Improved maintenance and testing thanks to clear documentation and system identification

“During the concept phase, we worked together with the customer and the manufacturers to develop customized, non-standard solutions. Our strength lies in innovative and individual solutions.”
